JOHN & ROSA BITNER

ELDER

John joined the Board of Elders in 2018.  John and his wife Rosa have been members of the Christian Center since 1988.  They have two grown boys Michael and Kenneth.   Kenneth is married to Haley and have blessed his parents with grandchild Kaiden Josiah.

Favorite Verse: Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 

TESTIMONY

John was born in Harrisburg, PA and accepted Christ as his savior while on a youth retreat at the age of 16.  He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and started his career as a chef in Los Angeles, CA.  He then moved to Borrego to help in the opening of Rams Hill Country Club.  In 1984 he met Rosa and they were married in 1985.  John moved over to de Anza Country Club working as Chef and then moving up to General Manager.   In 2008 John’s career took them to Midland, Texas and then in 2014 back to PA where he finished his career and retired in 2017. 
John and Rosa now spend their winters in Borrego and their summers in PA. 
John has a heart for men’s ministry. In the past he has served as Men’s leader, Marriage Class co-leader and Elder/Treasurer for the Christian Center.  In Texas he served as a Men’s Small Group leader, Life Group leader and in PA is involved with the Men’s Ministry and a Men’s Life Group.
